Civ3Players League

Welcome to the Civilization Multiplayer League, the first, best, and largest Multi-Player Fan site for Sid Meier's strategy game franchise, Civilization!

Welcome. We hope you join us. Our members are Civ fans who agree to play fairly, respect others, and abide by the rules. This is the place where you can literally play the best in the world anytime of the day or night.

This website with it's integrated forums is the complete one stop shopping place for competitive multiplayer and in conjunction with the Gamespy "Lobby" (where our members find each other and play games) form a community of serious fans of the Civ3 Multiplayer experience, that we call Civ3Players. We don't quit. We don't cheat. We value good sportsmanship. In short, we love the game.

You are welcome to join our community by signing up using the Free Sign up link on the left main menu. You will receive an activation letter back, almost immediately.

In addition to regular matches, we host special events and tournaments, including the Civilization Clan Championship Cup (CCC, for short), which has become the Olympics of MP Civ3.

If you ever have any questions, or suggestions, about how to make Civ3Players a better gaming community just email any admin, whose email addresses appear under the admin list on the left main menu, or use the form under the Contact Admin link. Have fun!

Welcome to Civ3Players where the best players play the best game in a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.

Phase 1 of moving to Hostgator

Posted on 2010-01-31, by CanuckSoldier

It should come as no susprise to anyone that our current host(that bought out our original host) is not doing the job for us, most notibly that all our emails are not working.

So on our behalf, DTA has contracted with HostGater, and is in the process of moving all our files and database.

We have to ensure it all works(Phase 2 testing) before we make the switch, and of course with DNS servers being slow to migrate new routing we might have to have both sites up for a bit, or create a new URL for the new site, such as a .net or .org etc.

But I will keep everyone informed as we progress in the move.

Please Change Your Passwords

Posted on 2009-11-09, by Zardoz

Due to the recent unpleasantness regarding phenomenon, the admin team STRONGLY recommends that everyone change their CIVPlayers passwords in order to reduce the possibility that your account may be tampered with.

Please take some effort to make your passwords difficult to hack by not using normal fR8idgit words or names, by adding numb3ers to your password and by interspersing some loWer case and CapitAl letTterS.

This, by the way, is a Good Idea for any of your sensitive passwords.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause. Thank you for your cooperation.

Illegal "Hacking"of Civplayers Civ3 League

Posted on 2009-11-07, by CanuckSoldier

I have reopened the league, since we believe that we have engineered a solution to the problems with the former player "phennomenom", but please contact any Admin if you see any further issues. I am persuing all options that I won't go into publically for security reasons, but rest assured we are talking this illegal activity very seriously. CanuckSoldier, Global Admin.

Please bear with us -- League Site is under repair

Posted on 2009-10-19, by Zardoz

The host for our league page has changed hands. As part of the changeover, the new host installed a different (older) version of mysql which is not eniterly compatible with the existing code. As a result the league database was inaccessible for a few days and now some features do not work as they should.

The most notable malfunction is the "Who's Logged On" link, which may or may not show players who are actually logged as being logged on when viewed by other players (Yes! It was me, Makedon!)

You may also notice some games that were reported that disappeared, not to be found in "Uncomplet4ed Matches" or in "Daily Rresults." If you believe your game has disappeared, please make sure first that it has not been counted, then report it again with an explanation in the "comments" section of the report.

Please let us know of any other errors you may find. I am sorry for the difficulties. Please check the forum page for additional details and updates.
