This website with it's integrated forums is the complete one stop shopping place for competitive multiplayer and in conjunction with the Gamespy "Lobby" (where our members find each other and play games) form a community of serious fans of the Civ3 Multiplayer experience, that we call Civ3Players. We don't quit. We don't cheat. We value good sportsmanship. In short, we love the game.

You are welcome to join our community by signing up using the Free Sign up link on the left main menu. You will receive an activation letter back, almost immediately.

In addition to regular matches, we host special events and tournaments, including the Civilization Clan Championship Cup (CCC, for short), which has become the Olympics of MP Civ3.

If you ever have any questions, or suggestions, about how to make Civ3Players a better gaming community just email any admin, whose email addresses appear under the admin list on the left main menu, or use the form under the Contact Admin link. Have fun!

Welcome to Civ3Players where the best players play the best game in a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.

CivPlayers Civ5 Cash Kickoff Contest!

Posted on 2010-09-02, by CanuckSoldier

The CivPlayers Admin team is pleased to announce that in order to get our Civ5 league off to a good start, we will be running a cash contest this fall.

On Dec 1st, 2010 the top Cton/FFA, Duel, Teamer, and overall highest skill player, will recieve $100USD for their efforts. Yes in theory one single player could come away with $400 if they manage the difficult task of leading in all categories.

We will be publishing the detailed rules for the contest in good time. But rest assured that rules will be in place to prevent any abuse or cheating in the contest. In the end the player(s) that master Civ5 in the first few months on Civplayers Civ5 league will be rewarded.

Yes I know it is not winning the lottery or anything, but it will certainly put your name in lights and give you some more cash for the busy Christmas shoppng period!

Feel free to give us feedback in the forum thread.

CivPlayers new site has entered the open beta stage!

Posted on 2010-08-22, by CanuckSoldier

Yes that is right, we are at the stage of having enough functions and User Interface stuff and 100% of our security code in place to start an open beta.

The URL to the beta site is in my forum post

So any player can now test out the site, and offer us bug reports and suggest ways to improve it.

Please post in the Site Development/League 2.0 Beta Feedback forum, any bug reports and feedback that you have.

DTA will be posting a more detailed description of what works now and what doesn't and what he needs looked at more in detail, in that forum.

Have fun and enjoy being part of our future site.

New Rule -- Proxy IP Accounts Banned

Posted on 2010-08-09, by Zardoz

Players who are found to be using a "proxy IP" account or other disguised "network sharing" server may be asked to find a legitimate IP address or leave the league. This is being instituted to minimize the abuses that often accompany such accounts.

Upgrade Notice: League 2.0 project!

Posted on 2010-07-31, by CanuckSoldier

One of the important changes we are making in the upgraded league, is a unified login system, so there will be a single login for the league and forums.

Because we now have two accounts per player, one for the league and one for the forums. When we migrate the database we need a method of merging the two accounts.

The way we are doing this is via your email address. So it is very very important that both your league and forum emails match. This must be done before the end of August. When we plan on performing the database transfer, but there will be more detailed info on exactly when we will do that as we get closer.

If you don't have the same pw you between forum and league accounts the league account will take precendence, and for the few players that have both Civ4 and Civ3 accounts the Civ4 pw will be used.

More info will come as we get further along the path to moving to our newly recoded league, but please take some time to help us make the new league a reality.

Forum Upgrade

Posted on 2010-07-16, by CanuckSoldier

Finally some more 2.0 changes are making it to the site. We have been working on various parts of the site for the upcoming 2.0 release, as I am sure most know by now.

What we are rolling out at this time is the upgraded forum code. This upgrade is currently planned for Sunday, July 17th. For most of that day you may notice the forum up and down as I work on getting all the changes made. Hopefully it will be a short down time and the roll out goes smoothly, but I am planned the entire day in my schedule if needed.

There are still some formatting issues in the C4P theme, the others should be fine. I will open a thread on the forum after the upgrade for the reporting of any messed up pages in the C4P theme and will work on fixing those as quick as I can in the coming weeks.
